Stop, just STOP
With Alan away to Australia and Sharon out of action for a few weeks it has been all hands on deck this past while
Thankfully we will be back to business as normal soon enough
But I always like getting back in and taking a few extra sessions now and again as that's what we get into fitness for
actually training people
and sometimes that can be forgotten about with all the day to day business stuff that goes with it
But something that I have noticed the past few weeks
and spoke to the trainers about
is the fact of people belting out reps on an exercise that actually needs to be slowed down
adding weight when they would be better off going even lighter and doing the thing right
Stop what you are doing
and think about how you are doing it
If you want to make proper results then you want to build muscle
Yes,
BUILD MUSCLE <<<<<< Name of the game folks
which scares off a lot of ladies
so they go back to doing such light weight they may as well not be doing it
go back to stupid amounts of Cardio
and live off starvation calories which is no craic at all
until they lose the plot
Jack it in
Have a binge of calories
and off we go on on our vicious cycle AGAIN
You want to build muscle tissue so it strips the fat
and gives you that lean and toned look that everyone goes for
and also gets you trimmed down and improves your health overall
And what's a very important factor in building muscle that everyone forgets?
Is getting TENSION on the muscle
Slow things down and hitting FULL RANGE on your reps with a CHALLENGING weight
Challenging in that it's not so heavy you can't even move the bloody thing or if you do your technique goes to shizzle
but not so light that you could sit there all day doing the exercise and not break a sweat
So what we want on these exercises is for people to SLOW DOWN and do them properly and not just focusing on belting them out 100 miles an hour doing half reps
and then adding more weight for their next set
Jesus wept......
of course all exercises arn't created equal
So you're thinking which exercises do I slow down and which do I speed up on
The easiest way to know?
Just simply listen to your trainer
if they say go light and slow
Then go light and slow
If they tell you to load up the weight and go for it
Then load up the weight and go for it
^^^^^ Probably too complicated & Complex for a lot of people
Simples
So pay attention and start this TODAY
